Tobacco Pipe
Smoking a tobacco pipe is a time-honored ritual and many
smokers wouldn’t trade their smoking for anything. There are three
main types of pipe: the briar, meerschaum, and corn cob. There are endless
variations on these basic themes.
Each tobacco pipe is different and will smoke differently depending
on the smoker and his or her preferences. The briar pipe is the most
popular pipe among smokers. It is made from the burl of the Erica Arborea
tree.
A meerschaum tobacco pipe is made from meerschaum – a mineral
most commonly found in Turkey. It’s soft and malleable –
easily shaped into different styles. Its chemical composition is magnesium
silicate and is derived from the remnants of ancient sea shells. The
corn cob pipe is inexpensive and versatile.
